10 hours a month

Hope you all don't mind, but I'd like to get opinions from a few different kinds of people, so I'm posting this in two other forums. I know some people don't like that, but sometimes it is necessary.

I'm just curious what people might think of this idea. I'm starting a new church, and there's a big problem because people really don't take the time to consider deep concepts. Without that, there's no learning.

So here's my idea. I'd like to form a group in which all the members agree to each month give one person 10 hours of their time to allow that person to really explain things to them. That person might have them read things, or talk to them, or whatever. Each person would be assigned a different person each month, and it'd be assigned by a dice roll or some other random manner.

I'll not say anything more about it, 'cause I'd like to hear what your first impressions of the idea are.

Come on Tony. We badly need more communities but yet another new church? What for? Unless it is far more convincing than most those out there. Of course, you are perfectly free to do so but that's part of the problem. Go back and polish your community ideas. There you stand a chance of really evolving useful new concepts of value.

At some point I'll need to create a church anyway.

Asking people for money to create a community means the people will only give money if they get to live there, and then expect control in how it is setup. If they move there, they'll likely loose their source of income, and not be able to help with money, and you end up with a very poor struggling community.

Asking people for money, as tithes for God, means the community can be setup in a very poor country, therefore very cheap. The money goes a whole lot farther. The money can also be used for other projects, such as developing open source tools and machines, which will help end poverty and also provide a source of income for the community, and also help bring global change.

Just thought I might try that, since I need to start a church anyway. It'll be a real church. Not the kind that expect you to believe in something you can't see. It'll be a church that provides solid evidence. True faith comes from knowledge. No one truly believes until they've seen proof.

I don't spend much time looking for donations. It is to much work. In the end, it is far more profitable to simply work and make money, only, it is so frustrating to watch time pass as you work on stupid things for money, and don't get enough important work done.
