Starting February 1st, on a month to month basis, share a large (15x9) bedroom in the east village. The apartment is a large, bright sunny two bedroom with a large living room, laundry room in the building, parks nearby, elevator, well heated, etc.

We will practice yoga, meditation, and creativity exercises. Our focus is on living in the moment and watching the ego.

We will host "be ins" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Be_in) and hold philosophy seminars, and maintain a daily blog and webcast. Proceeds from the web site will go towards shared expenses like food (there is no charge for utilities).

In the sixties, this idea would not be all that unusual, but today, this is unusual, hence the month to month basis to see if it can work in present day New York City.

This is non-religious.

No crazy people, please.

As we'll be living together, nobody with drug problems or other self-destructive behavior should apply.

If interested, provide information about yourself! :-)

  • you claim your selves non religious but sound rather dogmatic to me...
do you realize that people with "self destructive behaviors" deserve community and yoga and acceptance and validation as much as ANYONE if not more so?
most often they were severely abused as children and need some Love, affection, safety, and warmth...
what makes you or anyone more worthy of these things than the people you judge "crazy"?
your judgment is disgusting, in my opinion...

    Peace begins within...
    • everything you say may be true, but as the original poster says, they are new to this, and in this case, why not start simple with functional people. Taking on the challenges of bringing troubled people into community is necessary, but (IMHO) it's often hard enough to achieve this with people who are able to bring a full complement of social skills to the table.

I think that perhaps you're doing some judging of his intentions yourself...

      peace does begin... with peace
